A new community farmers market is coming to Kauai’s East Side, bringing fresh produce, local food vendors, handmade goods, and family-friendly activities to Anahola beginning June 1.
The new Anahola Farmers Market will take place every Monday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Anahola Marketplace, located at 4523 Ioane Road on Hawaiian Homelands. Organizers say the weekly event is designed to create a vibrant gathering place for residents and visitors alike while supporting local farmers, artisans, food vendors, and small businesses.
According to organizers, the market will feature farm-fresh produce, meals from food trucks and local vendors, handmade crafts, local artwork, and wellness-oriented offerings such as chair massage and family activities including face painting. Visitors will also be able to explore the marketplace’s on-site shops and retailers during the event.
The launch represents a new community-centered addition to the gateway of Kauai’s North Shore, an area long known for its strong sense of local identity and deep cultural roots. Organizers describe the market as an effort to bring “energy, abundance, and fun family activities” to the area while creating opportunities for local businesses and residents to connect.
For Anahola, the market also adds a new weekly gathering space for both the surrounding community and travelers passing through on their way toward destinations like Kilauea, Princeville, Hanalei, and the beaches of the North Shore. Monday afternoon markets are relatively uncommon on Kauai, potentially giving residents and visitors another option early in the week for fresh local products and prepared food.
The Anahola Marketplace itself has increasingly become a growing hub for local businesses and community activity on the East Side. Organizers hope the farmers market will further strengthen that role while creating a welcoming atmosphere centered around local agriculture, food, art, and community interaction.
Farmers markets across Kauai have long played an important role in supporting small-scale agriculture and local entrepreneurship, while also serving as informal gathering places where residents and visitors can experience a more community-oriented side of the island. The new Anahola Farmers Market appears aimed at continuing that tradition in one of Kauai’s most culturally rooted communities.
The market officially begins Monday, June 1, and will continue weekly from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
